Pussy Riot: Convicted of ‘hooliganism motivated by religious hatred’. Processions of mobilization in the world

MOSCOW – The punk trio’s Pussy Riot was convicted of hooliganism motivated by religious hatred. The sentence for the three singers is two years in prison.

The three punk musicians – Tolokonnikova Nadejda, 22 years; Samutsevic Ekaterina, 30 years; Alekhina Maria, 24 years – remain in prison for about a year and a half, given that the penalty is two years calculated from the time of arrest, to ‘beginning of March. In February, the three girls had sung a prayer punk in the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, asking the Virgin Mary to “evict” the then Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, became the new president of Russia a few weeks later.
